Dodge Point Management Unit

Dodge Point Management Unit is located in the town of Newcastle in Maine’s Midcoast region. The property consists of 521 acres, with approximately 8,000 feet of waterfront on the western shore of the Damariscotta River. The surrounding forest was named the State of Maine’s Tree Farm of the Year in 1978, attesting to its beauty and skilled management. The public reserved land is popular with hikers, who enjoy its sand and pebble beaches; cross-country skiers; skaters, who glide down the Damariscotta River in the winter months; swimmers; and anglers, who frequent the river and surrounding ponds. Visitors can access the area via boat from the public landing in Damariscotta or by driving on River Road in Newcastle. There is no entrance fee; call 207-778-8231 for more information.
