With over 3,000 miles of shoreline, Maine remains deeply tied to the ocean. Much of this shoreline consists of cold Atlantic waves splashing onto craggy rock. In other areas of the coast, however, there are miles of ocean beachfront that attract visitors from around the world. In addition to its ocean beaches, Maine has over 6,000 lakes and ponds, many of which feature beautiful beaches with crystal clear water. Whether you hope to walk along a pebbled beach or relax in silky smooth sand, Maine has the perfect beach for you.
