Cross country skiers and snow shoeing enthusiasts will find plenty of trails and unsurpassed beauty in the Pine Tree State. Maine offers over 325 kilometers of cross country ski trails, all meticulously groomed, at twelve commercial nordic ski touring centers. Many of these nordic centers host regional, and sometimes national, ski races and events over the course of the season, which typically runs from late November (weather permitting) until mid April.
