Gero Island is a large island in Chesuncook Lake. The water access campsites on the shore are popular with anglers and canoeists paddling the West Branch Penobscot River.

Lily Bay State Park is the place to pitch your tent near the shores of Beaver Cove in Moosehead Lake where campsites are well-spaced, wooded and some are lakeside.

Little Moose is a 15,000 acre unit that includes Big and Little Moose Mountains and several remote ponds that offer excellent hiking and fishing opportunities.
