The Rangeley Lakes XC Ski Trails offer 35 kilometers of 14'-wide skating trails for novice, intermediate and advanced skiers and snowshoers, as well as unlimited backcountry skiing. The ski center is now located at the base of Saddleback Mountain Ski Resort. A Pacific Yurt warming hut is currently serving as the ski lodge until the permanent lodge is constructed. Ski rentals, wax, waxing benches, clothing, hot drinks and snacks are available at the yurt.
The Rangeley Lakes Cross Country Ski Trails are located in the heart of the scenic western mountains and lakes region of Maine. The area has the best snow conditions in the East, with an annual snowfall approaching 200 inches. The snow conditions plus fantastic terrain make skiing at the Rangeley XC Ski Trails a wonderful experience for any skier from novice to expert. In the summer of 2005 the Rangeley nordic ski center moved from the Loon Lake Road location to Saddleback Mountain. The 35 kilometer system of loop trails is immaculately groomed by Pisten Bully groomer to a minimum of 14 feet wide with a skating lane and classic tracks on all trails. A 735' square foot (30' diameter) yurt from The Pacific Yurt Company is currently serving as the ski lodge until a permanent lodge is constructed. It is located in Rangeley Maine just 2.5 miles off Dallas Hill Road on Saddleback Mountain Road. Ski rentals, wax, waxing benches, and clothing items are available in our lodge.
