The museum features a collection of 99 drawings and memorabilia of artist Marsden Hartley, a native of Lewiston, Maine.

The museum holds one of the earliest collegiate collections in America, including European and American paintings, sculpture, drawings, prints and photographs as well as a temporary exhibition program which often features contemporary art.
