QUIET LOCATION with TIDAL WATER FRONTAGE. This is a lovely two-story house on a tidal inlet in Phippsburg, Maine. The house has a sun deck and screened porch with a view of the cove. Launch a canoe or kayak for a short paddle to The Basin, a spectacular, unspoiled saltwater "lake" off the New Meadows estuary, on the eastern edge of Casco Bay. The area is quiet & peaceful, 15 minutes from Bath, and 20 minutes from Popham beach. Cool and shady in summer, often with a nice breeze off the water, we also have a Monitor heater for cool nights. There are three bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths, an open living/dining room, den, mudroom, kitchen with hand-made cherry cabinets, and full basement with washer & dryer, and the house has all the major appliances, including dishwasher, microwave, and TV. The house is appropriate for a couple or small family. Please: No-smoking; no pets. We are also available for rent year-round. This is a great place from which to explore Maine, or just relax with a book on the deck. $800. per week until June 30; $1,000. per week from July 1 to September 30. Security deposit required.
The Basin is a protected saltwater inlet off the New Meadows River, on the Eastern edge of Casco Bay. The area is heavily wooded, very quiet, and relatively unpopulated. It's not unusual to see bald eagles, osprey, and seals in the Basin. Popham Beach is just a short drive further down the peninsula, and the golf course at Sebasco Estates is just a couple of miles away. The house is located between the historic town of Bath and the college town of Brunswick. Freeport, with its outlet stores and LL Bean is 30 minutes from the house. Other towns within an hour's drive are Portland, Camden, Rockport, and Boothbay Harbor. This area is truly one of the most beautiful spots on the Maine coast
