Star Barn Bed and Breakfast is located on Reeds Mill Road in Madrid, Maine. At 4.5 miles off Rte 4, it is a little off the beaten path but definitely worth the trip.
This B&B, nestled in Maine’s western mountain region, is built on the footprint of an early 1800’s barn on our property. While we had hoped to renovate the original barn, unfortunately, Father Time and Mother Nature had taken their toll on the weary building and it could not be. The "new" B&B boasts five bedrooms (three of which are currently ready to reserve with the other two online by summer) all with private baths and offers all the comforts of "home" with the cozy atmosphere of New England. Beams, pegs, and siding from the original barn have been cleverly incorporated into the décor of the public areas to preserve the old barn “feel.” You can warm up after skiing or snowmobiling next to your own gas fireplace in each room or by the fireplace in the parlor. Or enjoy a dip in the Orbeton Stream after a long summer hike. You will enjoy the beautiful, year-round views of forest, meadow and mountains from the full wall picture window in the parlor. You never know when a moose might walk by! Rooms are individually decorated with many antiques and special interest pieces. The two additional rooms in the Guest House will remain available for overflow situations.
Step outside Star Barn and enjoy the surrounding property - a small family cemetery, a pond with paddle boat, and trails to hike or snowshoe. At less than ¼ mile from ITS 89, Star Barn is the perfect location as a central base for several different snowmobile and ATV day trips.
Additional Amenities & Services: In addition, Star Barn B&B has a fully equipped Yoga Studio where scheduled and impromptu yoga classes are held. And, Star Barn Uniques features exclusively Maine-made craft and other items.
