Maine Children & Youth Summer Camp: “A Day Camp with a Difference”. We are based on a wonderful island in Casco Bay at the Chebeague Recreation Center. Each day, the campers ride a bus and ferry, the “Islander”, to begin and end their fun-packed day. The campers enjoy a day of swimming, crafts, games and beach combing. Each week centers around a different theme and campers can look forward to new adventures around the island and at our wonderful facility. Also available: Lobster Camp - “See sea life as it is!” A week long science program for children aimed at introducing them to the Maine lobster. This wonderful camp will explore lobster biology and life cycle; lobstering tools and equipment; and the importance of the lobstering industry to Chebeague and the State of Maine. Camp consists of short lectures and discussion combined with field trips to Chebeague beaches and to a mainland aquarium/science lab. Weather permitting, children will also have an opportunity to observe Chebeague lobstering first hand.
