Join the American Lung Association for the annual Trek Across Maine on Father's Day weekend, June 16 through 18, 2017. From the mountains at Sunday River to the sea in Belfast, cycle 180 miles across the state of Maine. This ride is fully supported by volunteers and trained medical staff, including support vehicles along the route and three rest stops daily . There is a new 2 day option for those of you that canÃ¢â‚¬â„¢'t get away for a 3 day vacation. Join us Saturday and Sunday and enjoy the Trek experience. We are always looking for volunteers to help us support the Trek Across Maine. We have many volunteer opportunities available. The route options are as follows: Regular Route starts on Day 1 from Sunday River to University of Maine at Farmington (approximately 67 miles with 3 rest stops located on route); continues on Day 2 at the University of Maine at Farmington to Colby College (approximately 57 miles with 3 rest stops located on route and 1 water stop; concludes on Day 3 starting at Colby College to Belfast (approximately 56 miles with 3 rest stops located on route and last mile staging stop. The Two Day Route starts on Day 1 (June 17) at Colby Loop Route and continues around the Waterville area (approximately 41 miles); continues on Day 2 from Colby College to Belfast (approximately 56 miles). There is also a Colby Loop Route limited to 200 riders with Day 1 from Sunday River to UMF shuttled to Colby College to sleep (approximately 67 miles); continuing Day 2 with the Colby Loop Route around Waterville (approximately 41 miles); and concluding on Day 3 from Colby College to Belfast (approximately 56 miles). Registration is $65 (non-refundable). Three-day fundraising requirement is $550 per person ($400 for ages 7 to 17). Two-day fundraising requirement is $450 per person ($350 for ages 7 to 17). The age limit is 7 years and up. Children between the ages of 7 and 12 must ride a tandem or tag-a-long bike with adult guardian. All children under the age of 18 must have an adult guardian with them at all times on the route. Child and guardian are both required to meet the fundraising minimum. The Bethel Farmer's Market offers fresh, locally grown vegetables, herbs, fruit and berries; an array of meats including beef, poultry, pork, lamb and veal; fresh eggs, jams, jellies and fruit spreads, breads and assorted baked goods; Maine maple syrup, maple products and honey; hardy Maine perennials and cut flower bouquets; and Maine lobsters (can be cooked on site), scallops, clams and haddock (pre-order of haddock suggested). It was a chilly day in March of 1851 when a few local farmers and merchants got together and decided to show off their produce, cattle and wares to the community. Since those humble beginnings, Fryeburg Fair has grown to become Maine's largest agricultural fair complete with six days of harness racing, a farm museum second to none, the world's largest steer and oxen show and a reputation known throughout North America. The unofficial kick-off to winter, Fall Festival, comes to Sunday River. Come celebrate the end of summer with live music, a wine tasting, the always entertaining North American Wife Carrying Championship, the annual New England Corn Hole Championship, the annual Blue Mountain Arts and Crafts Fair and a full array of activities for the whole family. Spend the weekend with spectacular foliage great deals, good company and more. This year's Fall Festival promises to be a hit.

Always the last weekend in October, this is the place to buy and sell new and used winter clothing and equipment. Bring all your gently used items including downhill, cross country, snowboarding, snowshoeing, ice skating and hockey gear to sell beginning at 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28 and pick up your money or any sold items on Saturday Oct. 29. While at the sale shop around for new winter equipment and clothing from 8 area ski shops. There are 1000's of items for sale under one roof ranging in price from $1 to $1,000. There are shop employees present to help you make the best choice for your winter fun. Sponsored by the Bethel Outing Club, a non-profit 501(c), whose mission it is to provide affordable access for all to cross-country skiing and people powered sports such as hiking, bicycling, running, paddling, swimming and roller skiing.
